Reminders (July 2007)
Reminders allow entry of events which are associated with a date/time, then
alert the user when that date/time occurs. Early warnings are sometimes provided,
as are the means of launching other programs at the designated date/time.
This review is in work. Until the review is complete, I suggest the
following application for your reminder needs:
- Vinade Reminder
Easy to use way to remind yourself of bills, meetings, medications, appointments,
birthdays, ... Reminders can be sent to your screen, cell phone, pager, or email.
These are the minimum features that I expect from reminder software.
Each of the candidate programs will be ranked against how well they
implement the following features. As the review continues, the list of
features may change.
- Date/time selection
- Early warnings
- System tray
- Startup with Windows
- Single shot events (specific date/time)
- Recurring events (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly)
- Import/export options
- Event Wizard
- Summary presentation of events
- Alarm options (visual, audible)
- Launch on event options
These are the programs included in this review. If a
program you're interested in is not on the list, be sure to check my
review of timer programs,
whose features sometimes overlap those of the timers included in this review.
User Feedback & Suggestions
I welcome any suggestions on other timer programs that should be
considered, or suggestions on how better to review the selected programs.
