gbPlayer plays MP3 and WAV sound files. A user creates a play list of sounds (usually songs) by dropping files or a folder onto gbPlayer, or onto a gbPlayer shortcut. Several methods of play a song are provided, such as double clicking on a song in the play list or pressing the Enter key to play the selected song.

Typical song player commands are supported - Play, Pause, Stop, Next, and Previous. The song list may be played in a loop, or an individual song may be played repeatedly. The use may also raise, lower, and mute the sound volume

Songs may optionally be checked. When the option to "Play Checked Songs Only" is selected, various gbPlayer commands will respond as though the list contained only the checked songs (i.e., Next will move to the next checked song instead of the next song in the play list).

Toolbar

• Play - Play the currently selected song. Also provides a dropdown menu with the following options:
  • Open Play List - Selects an existing Play List to load
  • Save As Play List - Save current Play List to file (same or different file name)
  • MP4 - Play MP4 files
  • WAV - Play WAV files
  • WMA - Play WMV files
  • Other - Play file types as set with "Set Other Extensions"
  • Set Other Extensions - Displays a popup textbox in which to enter additional file types that gbPlayer will play. Default is ".mid"
• Pause - Pause the song currently being played (press Play to continue)
• Stop - Stop the song currently being played
• Remove - Remove the selected song from the list (does not delete the song from the hard drive)
• Prev - Play the song just previous to the song currently being played.
• Next - Play the song immediately aftter the song currently being played.
• Lower - Lower the sound (approximately 10% each click)
• Mute - Stop the sound, but continue playing
• Higher - Raise the sound (approximately 10% each click)
• Loop - Play all songs repeatedly (all checked songs if "Play Check Songs Only" is selected)
• Settings - Toggles the mini-toolbar setting. Also provides a dropdown menu with the following options:
  • AutoPlay - Automatically starts playing the selected song on startup
  • AutoLoop - - Play all songs repeatedly (all checked songs if "Play Check Songs Only" is selected)
  • Scan SubFolder on Drop - When a folder is dropped, files found in subfolders are added to the playlist
  • Play Only Checked Songs - When AutoLoop is set, or when Next/Previous are used, the next song to be played is the next checked song
  • Loop Single Song - Plays the same song repeatedly
  • Limit Volume - When selected, gbPlayer volume controls affect only the MP3 sound. WHen not seledted, the gbPlayer volume controls affect all system sounds.
  • Minimal Toolbar - Toggles between the full toolbar and a reduced set of buttons
  • Compact Footprint - Hides Play List and displays a reduced set of toolbar buttons
  • Go To Song Selected - Scrolls the Play List so that the currently selected song is visible
  • Go To Song Playing - Selects the currently playing song and then scrolls the Play List so that the song is visible

Context

• Clear List - Removes all songs from the play list. Does not delete the songs from the hard drive
• Remove Selected Song - Removes the selected song from the play list
• Play - Plays the currently selected song
• Pause - Pauses the song currently being played
• Stop - Stop the song currently being played
• Play Next - Plays the next song in the play list. If "Play Checked Songs Only" is selected, the next song may not be immediately adjacent to the song currently being played

• Remove Duplicates - Removes from the list, all songs with the same name (1st column, not the 2nd column)
• Open Song Location - Opens the folder containing the currently selected song
